Canon launch Canon Mobile Scanning for Business

16 000 2014

Canon are taking the opportunity presented by the launch of two monochrome A4 MFPs (see Machines news) to launch a new application, Canon Mobile Scanning for Business.  It should be available for iOS in early February and for Android in July 2014.

Compatible with the i-SENSYS, imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE ranges, Canon Mobile Scanning for Business allows users to scan directly to their mobile devices, or to the cloud, to send them by email or even to change certain scan job set up features.  Another feature of the app is to manage scanned documents saved on the mobile device: a user can move them around, set them up for printing out or for use by one of the other apps installed on the device.

Canon has also announced the launch of the latest version of Canon Mobile Printing for iOS, which has the new feature of converting MS Office files (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) in the cloud rather than on the device itself, to guarantee conformity with teh original.  The Android version is scheduled for April 2014.
